3 Fun Easter Pranks for April Fools Day

Easter and April Fools' Day collide this Sunday, April 1st for the first time in sixty-two years, which means you might want to be careful before biting into your Easter treats. On this day in 1700, English pranksters begin popularizing the annual tradition of April Fools' Day by playing practical jokes on each other. Although the day, also called All Fools' Day, has been celebrated for several centuries by different cultures, its exact origins remain a mystery. In the spirit of the collaboration, here are 3 fun pranks for Easter and April Fool’s Day to get a giggle out of the spring holiday.

1.) Pull a Switcheroo: Hosting an Easter egg hunt? Replace some of the goodies in the eggs with less desirable items like frozen peas, empty candy wrappers, or rubber bands. You can also unwrap the small Hershey’s chocolate eggs and swap them for grapes. For an extra bonus, wrap sour candies in normally sweet packages and enjoy their priceless expressions.

2.) Bon Appétit: Planning an Easter meal? Make sponge cake out of sponges by putting a canister of frosting on large sponges. When you announce that you’ve made sponge cake for dinner, they’ll be sure to be April fools when they try to cut into that real” sponge cake. Or dip vegetables in chocolate and have your camera ready to catch your kids or guests bite into a chocolate carrot.

3.) Easter Egg Pranks: There are lots of deviously prankish things you can do when it comes to Easter egg hunting pranks. Make it extra difficult for your kids this year and hide the eggs in really difficult spots. You can always help them if they get really frustrated.

The next time Easter and April Fool’s Day will converge will be 2029 and then again in 2040 so now’s the perfect time to enjoy a little spring pranking with your family. From The Russo Team Family to yours, have a safe and Happy Easter! – Frank
