Are You Working With a Good Boss or a Bad One?

I recently came across an article from one of my favorite online resources for real estate news and other interesting reads. The title caught my attention – the top 10 signs of a bad boss. As a business owner and manager of my real estate team, I am particularly aware of these types of signs and I am even more aware when it comes to working with our clients and customers.

Here are the top 10 signs of a bad boss according to the article I read:

The Ego-Tripper
The Coward
The Micro-Manager
The Incapable
The Overly-Friendly Boss
The Bad Communicator
The Plagiarizer
The Negative
The Ego-Centric
The Criticizer

I think we can all agree, at some point we have worked for one or all of these types of managers or maybe even had to deal with them in a transaction type setting. As a real estate professional, it is easy to fall prey to several of these conditions, such as the ego-tripper, the bad communicator, the coward or the guy who is full of himself called the ego-centric.

Any one of these conditions can kill a real estate deal and leave you with a bad taste for REALTORS. In national surveys, consumers report that one of their top complaints about real estate agents is lack of communication. And from looking at this top 10 list of bad bosses, lack of communication could be a side-effect for all 10 conditions.

I have been selling real estate in the Valley for over 40 years. I have learned that honest, open communication is key in creating a successful real estate sale or purchase. Its not how great your photo looks or how many houses you sell each year - it comes down to creating a relationship that is built on what your needs are and how we can accomplish your real estate goals together.

If you or someone you know is considering a move, please give me a call today. Frank
