Cinco de Mayo Downtown Phoenix Festival

Happy Cinco de Mayo! For those who don’t know, Cinco de Mayo celebrates the triumph of the Mexican army at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Though many associate Cinco de Mayo with Mexican Independence Day, this victory occurred over fifty years after Mexico's Independence Day, which is celebrated on September 16th. So now that you know a little bit of history, it’s time to celebrate at the Cinco de Mayo Downtown Phoenix Festival!

The 23rd Annual Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival begins this Saturday, May 7th from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Sunday, May 8th from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and takes place between the skyscrapers in downtown Phoenix at 200 West Washington Street, Phoenix, AZ. The Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival is one of the largest multicultural festivals in Arizona. This two day street festival provides attendees with non-stop fun, music, games, and giveaways. The event also includes live music including Platinum Artists, scholarship giveaway, lucha libre, ballet folklorico, and kid’s zone with interactive rides and games. There will also be traditional food and drinks as well as prizes and much, much more. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.
