Keep Phoenix Beautiful this Earth Day

Each year, Earth Day—April 22—marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. The movement helped make environmental concerns more of a priority after founder Gaylord Nelson, a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin at the time, realized he could awaken an emerging public consciousness about air and water pollution, which would force environmental protection onto the national political agenda. Since its birth, Earth Day is the largest secular observance in the world, celebrated by more than a billion people every year, and a day of action that changes human behavior and provokes policy changes.

So if you want to celebrate Earth Day 2016 and keep the spirit of environmental consciousness alive, you’ll definitely want to celebrate with Keep Phoenix Beautiful this Earth Day. On Saturday, April 23rd from 11am to 4pm, PXH Renews at 4221 N. Central Ave., Phoenix helps celebrate Earth Day with exhibitors, mini eco-classes and more! This is a zero-waste event meaning all waste will be recyclable or compostable. There will be limited parking at Steele Indian School Park, so alternative modes of transportation such as light rail or biking are recommended and encouraged. This downtown Phoenix event is free and open to the public.

Keep Phoenix Beautiful is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization (formerly known as Phoenix Clean and Beautiful).
